Description

Bear Lake Memorial Healthcare is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide services to patients in our Urgent Care Clinic in Garden City, UT. Bear Lake Memorial Hospital is a county-owned healthcare system dedicated to compassionate, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform medical examinations and treatment; assess, observe, treat, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress in patient charts
  • Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record the data in the patient's record; write progress notes and narrative discharge summaries; prepare patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
  • Order laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
  • Carry out treatment and therapeutic procedures such as cast application and removal, wound suturing and dressing changes, taking x-rays, drawing blood, taking vitals, starting IV’s; monitor progress of patients, consult with physicians as needed, and maintain record of each patient's progress.
  • Educates patients and/or families as to the nature of disease, provides instruction on proper care, self-management and treatment, and works with patient to develop an individualized care plan.      
  • Participate in teaching clinical students techniques and procedures, which are unique to the specific clinical setting.

Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • Work effectively and collaboratively with medical staff.
  • Have proven communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients, physicians, co-workers, management, visitors, etc.
  • Adhere to confidentiality requirements.
  • A high level of integrity.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
