Description

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and giving written and oral reports to the off going or on-coming charge nurse and patient care personnel.  She/he is responsible in communicating with physicians, residents, families, visitors, and professional staff members.
  • Making assignments based on the needs of patients and the capabilities of patient care personnel. 
  • Administering medications and treatments prescribed by legally authorized persons within their scope of practice and training.
  • Making rounds to assess the condition and needs of patients
  • Accompanying physicians and other personnel as necessary. Evaluating the physical condition of the Acute Care unit.
  • Keeping records and patient charts according to facility policy.

Requirements:

  • Consistently work cooperatively with patients, residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers.
  • Consistently supports compliance and the principles of responsibility by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (as applicable), and Bear Lake Memorial Hospital’s policies and procedures.
  • Excellent service and communication skills when interacting with employees, patients, and visitors.
  • Must be kind and compassionate.
  • Current ACLS and BLS required.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds with assistance or appropriate mechanical lifts.
  • May require extensive time standing and walking.
  • Will require time sitting, writing/documenting.
  • Will require bending, twisting, stooping and lifting.
  • Must be able to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to contribute to the culture/mission of the most caring hospital
