Bear Lake Memorial Healthcare is seeking a hard-working, dependable individual for our Physical Therapy department that can provide compassionate and caring service to the residents and patients of BLMH. This individual will provide rehabilitation/restorative nursing interventions to help residents live as independently and safely as is possible and will also assist with physical therapy assignments as needed.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Under the supervision of the licensed nurse or therapist, initiates rehabilitation/restorative nursing interventions as assigned.
- Performs rehabilitation/restorative nursing interventions that assist or promote the resident’s ability to attain his or her maximum functional potential:
- Range of Motion (Passive and Active)
- Splint or Brace Assistance
- Training and skill practice in bed mobility, transfer, walking, dressing or grooming, eating or swallowing, communication.
- Documents progress, treatment, measurable objectives and interventions in the care plan and in the clinical record.
- Promotes residents’ ability to live and function as independently as possible.
- Instructs/assists the resident in the use of assistive devices for transferring, walking and mobility, dressing, grooming, eating and swallowing.
- Provides range of motion, proper turning and positioning in bed and chair.
- Helps transport residents to medical appointments, both at the facility and at other locations.
- Incorporates training and skill practice activities, which include repetition, physical or verbal cueing and task segmentation.
- Reports observations and other pertinent nursing rehabilitation/restorative care information to therapy supervisor.
- Participates in the ongoing review and development of the rehabilitation/restorative care and interventions.
- Participates in the identification of staff and resident educational needs related to rehabilitation/restorative care.

- Must have good organizational skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
