Bear Lake Memorial Healthcare is seeking a motivated and dependable Credentialing Specialist to join our team. This role involves working with providers, staff and BLMH entities to collect, verify, complete and maintain insurance credentialing and contracting information. The position is "hybrid", with a combination of remote and on-site duties, with most day-to-day responsibilities carried out off-site. The ideal candidate must be available to attend initial onboarding, trainings, and meetings on-site at least once per month, and be available to complete on-site tasks on a varying frequency.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate with providers, administrative staff, and insurance companies to collect and verify insurance credentialing and contracting information.
- Complete and submit initial credentialing and re-credentialing applications for all providers with various insurance payers.
- Track application statuses and follow up to ensure timely processing and approvals.
- Maintain credentialing files and databases to ensure all provider records are current, complete, and compliant.
- Monitor credentialing expiration dates and proactively initiate renewal processes.
- Respond to credentialing related inquiries from providers, payers, and internal departments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and payer-specific requirements.
- Assist with audits and reporting related to credentialing as needed.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in insurance credentialing or a related administrative role preferred.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to manage time effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office) essential; experience with credentialing software is a plus.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing education and training.
- Dedicated, quiet workspace suitable for remote work.
- Stable, high-speed internet connection to support remote communication and use of cloud-based systems.
